Liz Sharek is possibly best known for her cast glass practice which she has been successfully pursuing since the 1990s. However, since obtaining a Masters in Art and Design from AUT in 2008 she has been expanding her material practice and has recently renewed her interest in ceramics. Her Volcano Series won the Small Sculpture Prize at The Waiheke Community Art Gallery in 2016 and she was also a finalist at The Portage Ceramic Awards in 2016.
She has exhibited widely in New Zealand and Overseas and her work is included in a number of collections including The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and The Ebeltoft Glass Museum in Denmark.
Liz has recently moved out of Auckland City to build a home and workshop in Matakana.
