Aaron Scythe’s work is the expression of a hybrid of cultural influences. The inspiration for this unique cultural fusion stems from within Scythe’s diverse identity of ‘home’. Aaron Scythe lived in Japan for a period of 16 years & has returned to Aotearoa (New Zealand) with his Japanese wife - where he currently resides in Whanganui.

Scythe is heavily inspired by Māori Prophets & Japanese Comics - this influence has evolved the outcome of Aaron’s creative expression & is the stimulant for this synthesized cultural blend. 

Aaron Scythe’s body of work continues to grow, as does the recognition & appreciation of his craft.
